Hello! I am Mrs. Lowman. I was born and raised in Lynchburg. I attended Radford University for my degree in education and returned to get my master's in education with an endorsement in Library Media. I started teaching in 1998 and have been at RES since 2003! I loves to travel and to spend time outdoors. I am married to Scott and  have one son, Nick. I also have three dogs, Macy, Poppy, and Kizzie.

In my free time, I enjoy being outdoors. I love working in the yard, hiking, boating, kayaking, camping, traveling, and living life to the fullest.

book cover for the Christmas Owl

The true story of Rockefeller the owl is about a tiny, lost Northern Saw-whet owl found nestled in the 2020 Rockefeller Center Christmas tree. The owl became an internet sensation after being rescued by the Ravensbeard Wildlife Center, treated for dehydration, and eventually released back into the wild. This story has inspired several children's books like The Christmas Owl, teaching lessons of kindness and compassion.
