Kindergarten

Hi there! I’m Miss Brooks and I’m so excited for another year at RES! I started teaching in 2023 as a long term sub here at RES. Ever since, I knew RES was the place to be ! I have been a part of the kindergarten team since my time here at RES began. Teaching the little ones is truly my passion. I love watching them interact and grow. They change so much in just a school year! I graduated from the University of Lynchburg in 2023 with a degree in Elementary Education and have been in the classroom, loving what I do ever since! In my free time, I love to spend time with my friends, family, and also some time shopping! I am a dog mom to my sweet girl, Sadie! I am so grateful to be here at RES with the people I love! I look forward to another great year filled with so many new memories and milestones! Go Bulldogs!

Hello! I'm Ms. Clay and I'm so excited for another year at RES! I joined RES in 2022 as an Instructional Assistant and soon had the opportunity to serve as a long-term substitute in Kindergarten. That experience confirmed what I already suspected—Kindergarten is where my heart belongs! I earned my teaching licensure through iTeach, and this will be my second year teaching Kindergarten at RES. Before beginning my teaching journey, I graduated from Old Dominion University with a major in Human Services and a minor in Psychology. I feel incredibly thankful to be part of the RES family, doing what I love most. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, working out, traveling, and most importantly the North Carolina Tar Heels! I’m also a dog mom to a sweet husky named Carolina. I’m so grateful to be part of such an amazing team, and I’m looking forward to a great year full of learning and love!

Hi there! I’m Mrs. Maynard and I’m so excited for another year at RES! I started teaching in 2014 in Gaston County, NC and found my home at RES in 2020. I’ve taught 1st and 2nd grade, but Kindergarten has truly stolen my heart—I absolutely love watching little learners grow, explore, and discover each day!

I graduated from Belmont Abbey College with a degree in Elementary Education (go Crusaders!) and have been passionate about teaching ever since.

At home, I’m a proud wife, mama to my sweet daughter Ava Caroline, and dog mom to two lovable rescue pups—Vince and Kennedy. When I’m not in the classroom, you’ll find me reading a good book, spending time with my family, or cheering on the Carolina Tar Heels!

I feel so lucky to be part of the RES community and can’t wait for all the learning and laughter this year will bring!
